1️⃣Day 1: Marrakech » Atlas Mountains » Merzouga Sahara Desert [561 km]

Our overnight Marrakech desert tour to Fes will usually start from your accommodation in Marrakech. Along the way, we’ll stop several times as long as the time allows us to enjoy incredible views from the very best arid range in North Africa: the High Atlas.

On the way to Ouarzazate, referred to as the “Gate of the Sahara”, we’ll stop at the UNESCO Heritage of Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, located in Ouarzazate province, which is a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco.

We will continue our way to Merzouga towards Skoura, a historic fertile oasis lined with immense palm groves in the Drâa-Tafilalet region, in the Atlas Mountains, where we’ll enjoy the impressive Dades River and its splendid gorges.

We’ll continue our journey to Rissani, the biggest souk in the region. Finally, we’ll undergo Rissani to succeed in the Merzouga desert. Camels will be waiting for you at the edge of the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, a stop in the middle of the dunes is a chance to take lovely shots of the sunset and do sandboard in the wavy sand dunes of Merzouga. Dinner, a party (Berber drums) around the campfire before a fantastic overnight in a Berber-style tent in the middle of the Sahara desert.

2️⃣Day 2: Merzouga » Erfoud » Ziz Valley » Azrou Cedar forest » Fes [460 km]

We will rise up early and luxuriate in one of the foremost spectacular images: the sunrise over the dunes. After enjoying this magical moment and a typical breakfast within the camp, we’ll ride the camels back to our departure point, change the camels by our vehicle, and that we will continue our tour to Fes through Erfoud, the town of fossils and sculpting on the marble stones.

On the way, we’ll pass by the Ziz Valley and its palm groves, Errachidia, Midelt, and that we will stop within the cedar forest where we’ll meet the famous wild Monkeys.
